Bring your school group to Mesilla Valley Maze and let them get "in touch" with their food through a combination of education and fun! During the week we offer a high quality, award-winning, Ag-based educational experience for children in PreK through 5th grade. We provide hands-on experience as your students explore, play, and learn the importance of agriculture - all while helping you meet state educational requirements.
NM & TX Educational Standards
Our school tour program meets Standards & Benchmarks for Common Core and TEKS, Pre-K through 5th grade, for both the New Mexico and Texas Departements of Education. Each year we have a new theme and curriculum that ties in with the current corn maze design. Our curriculum is designed by New Mexico's AG Educator Of The Year and is written by a licensed teacher; made available on our website for educators to download. We have teachers in our Outdoor Classroom and self-led Education Stations. We also include many other educational offerings that broaden the knowledge base of our elementary-aged visitors.
We'll provide you with educational, downloadable curriculum, and an outdoor classroom lesson based on wildlife within a 5 mile radius of the maze, "Walk On The Wildside!" Teachers who participate in the outdoor classroom will also receive a signed copy of the book "Lizards For Lunch" by award winning author Conrad Storad.
A FREE Sugar Baby Pumpkin for each participant is included with paid admission.
Displays that include how corn and pumpkins grow, "Aint It Corny" corn facts, desert south west wildlife and "Barnyard Bios" at the education station.
Hop on our wagon for a hayride to the Pumpkin Patch with an educational talk on how pumpkins grow. Each participant will receive a FREE pumpkin.
It's a maze, it's a game, it's educational, and it's FUN! Your students can make their way through twisting pathways and stop at educational stations along the way.
Your students will have time to enjoy our play area featuring 5 giant slides and more.
School groups are welcome to bring your own lunch. For groups of 20 or more, we will reserve a pavilion for your use. For smaller groups, there are picnic tables in Pumpkin Park available for use.
Food is also available for purchase at Aunt Mary's Kitchen. Learn More }
